Sweet leaf (Madura cheera)



Sweet leaf (Sauropus androgynus) is an evergreen shrub growing in tropical regions. It is also known as Katuk, Malay, Cekur manis, Sayur manis, Asinasin or Star gooseberry. Sweet leaf is the most popular leafy vegetable in South East Asia which grows up to 2.5m height. It was observed that the nutritive value of Sweet leaf is superior to other commonly used leafy vegetables in India. It is common in green forests in tropical regions.

  2. Thank you. For some reason that don't know of, it's called sukkurmani cheera at my place. Maybe it comes from the name cekur mani.
